The $120m AGL Bluff Wind Farm Project is made up of 25 wind turbines located on 1,863 hectares of freehold agricultural land approximately 10km north west of the township of Hallett and 25km south east of Jamestown in the mid-north of South Australia.
As indicated in the above map, the wind farm will be located on land owned by six property owners. The land is used predominately for sheep grazing. The location was chosen for its high potential wind harvesting capacity and proximity to transmission network infrastructure.
The AGL Bluff Wind Farm will generate 165,000 MWh of energy annually - enough clean, green energy to power approximately 26,600 average South Australian households per year, resulting in greenhouse gas emission savings of over 161,000 tonnes per annum.
The map below shows the placement of the overhead line. This overhead line terminates at the Belalie Substation, which is being constructed for the North Brown Hill wind farm.
